The short version
EE appears in one Bertazzoni document we have, the user and maintenance manual for the RFD36FZNX and RFD36FZNW refrigerators, on page 25 under “Fault Codes.” The entry is “Ice maker sensor fault.” That is all it says about the code itself.
What that page tells you to do
The introduction to the fault code table says that when one of its tips shows on the display, the refrigerator has a problem. It adds that in these fault cases the refrigerator can still cool and freeze, but you should contact maintenance personnel to make sure it continues to work normally.
So the instruction splits into two parts:
- Food storage is not described as at risk.
- The ice maker side needs a technician’s attention.
Why we say little more
The manual does not name the sensor, does not say whether ice production stops, and gives no reset. Anything beyond that would be a guess.
Which refrigerator this applies to
The entry comes from the RFD36FZNX / RFD36FZNW manual. We found no definition of EE in the other Bertazzoni refrigerator manuals in this set, so if your model is a different one, read the code with caution and give the technician the exact model number.
Do not confuse with
- E0 / EO: the general ice maker fault in the same table
- F4: an ice maker sensor failure in a different manual
Ice maker sensor service in San Francisco
For EE, call (415) 692-0756. Have the model number from the rating label handy and tell us what the ice maker is doing.
Model compatibility: Bertazzoni reuses codes across series and model years, so EE may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
