Only one Bertazzoni manual in our set defines F1: the installation and user manual for the REF24BMBPNB built-in bottom-mount refrigerator. Section 11, “Fault Display,” lists it first, as the fridge evaporator sensor.
What the evaporator sensor is
The evaporator is the coil that gets cold and chills the air for the fresh food compartment. A sensor on or near it tells the control how that part of the system is doing. F1 says the sensor has a fault. The manual does not say how it is failing, such as a broken wire or an out-of-range reading, so neither do we.
The manufacturer’s guidance
The paragraph introducing the list states that once the sensors detect a fault, alerts show on the temperature display. The appliance still cools, but a professional service engineer should be called in to check it.
Practical points
- Keep the appliance powered and running, since it is still cooling.
- Do not remove interior panels to look for the sensor.
- Mention the code, and that it is the only one showing, when you book.
No reset is listed for F1.
Why it matters to report it early
An evaporator sensor fault does not stop the refrigerator, which is exactly why it is easy to ignore. The manual still asks for a service check. Booking while the unit runs normally is easier than waiting until something else changes, and it gives the technician a clean starting point.

Call (415) 692-0756 for an F1. Read the model number from the nameplate so we can match it to the right manual.
Model compatibility: Bertazzoni reuses codes across series and model years, so F1 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
