The temperature of the fresh food compartment is what F3 is about. Bertazzoni’s 24 inch bottom-mount manuals list it as “Fridge compartment sensor” in the fault display section.
Sensor, not thermostat
The sensor tells the control what the compartment temperature actually is, and the control compares that with the setting. If F3 shows, the sensor is faulty, and the control does not have the reading it expects. For the same job on the 36 inch models, see E1.
What the manual wants from you
| Step | Source wording |
|---|---|
| Alert | Shown on the temperature display |
| Cooling | The appliance still cools |
| Action | A professional service engineer should check it |
There is no reset and no owner check. A faulty sensor will not be fixed by changing the temperature setting.
Food safety sense
The manual does not say how the refrigerator behaves with this fault, so a thermometer in the fresh food compartment is the simplest way to see how it is actually running. That is general food handling sense, not a Bertazzoni instruction.
If other codes appear
The 24 inch manuals describe the fault display as a built-in function. If F3 is replaced on screen by another code, write down both, in the order they appeared.

Model compatibility: Bertazzoni reuses codes across series and model years, so F3 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
