F2 at a glance
- Meaning: Fresco zone sensor fault
- Appliance: the 24 inch built-in bottom-mount refrigerators in Bertazzoni’s REF24BMBPNB, REF24BMFIXNV / RBM24F4FXNV and REF24BMBIPNV manuals
- Cooling: continues
- Action: call a professional service engineer
The fault display function
These refrigerators have what the manual calls a “Fault Display & Alarm” function. When a sensor detects a problem, an alert appears on the temperature display. The wording in all three manuals is the same on this point: the appliance still cools, but a service engineer should check it. Two of them list F2 as the “Fresco sensor,” the third as the “Fresco Zone sensor.”
What we can and cannot say about the Fresco zone
The manuals list it only as the “Fresco sensor” / “Fresco Zone sensor” with no further description. The manuals’ fault lists do not describe where the zone is or what it holds, so any more detail about the sensor’s job belongs to the technician, who can read the model’s own documentation.
While you wait
- Note the code and that nothing else is displayed.
- Check that food in the fresh food section feels as cold as usual, using a thermometer if you have one.
- Arrange a visit and leave the sensor alone.
If more than one code appears
Several sensors can alarm at once. If F2 shows together with F1, F3 or another sensor code, copy them all down in the order you see them. A pattern across sensors points the technician somewhere different than a single isolated code does.
Neighbors in the list
- F1: the evaporator sensor, listed in the first of the three manuals
- F3: the fridge compartment sensor

Model compatibility: Bertazzoni reuses codes across series and model years, so F2 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
