Reading CC
On the Bertazzoni REF36FDFZXNT refrigerator, CC stands for “the ice maker defrost sensor has failed.” That is the whole entry. It names the part and says it is no longer reporting properly.
A defrost sensor in plain terms
A defrost sensor is a sensor tied to the ice maker’s defrost function; the manual gives no more detail. When the sensor fails, the board loses that input. The user manual does not say what the refrigerator does in response, so we will not guess whether ice production slows or stops.
While the code is showing
- If a chime is sounding, press any button to quiet it.
- If more than one code is cycling through the display, write all of them down. They are all useful to the technician.
- Leave the ice maker components in place, and arrange a repair visit.
No owner checks and no reset are published for CC. The code will clear from the display after the fault is resolved, according to the manual.
What to tell the technician
Say whether the ice bin has been filling since the code appeared, whether the freezer itself still feels cold, and whether any other letters show on the display.
Check the other ice maker sensor codes
- C9: the sensor inside the ice making chamber
- EE: ice maker sensor fault, listed in a different Bertazzoni manual
Repairing a Bertazzoni ice maker in San Francisco
Call (415) 692-0756 when CC appears. Mention the model number on the nameplate and whether the ice bin is filling.
Model compatibility: Bertazzoni reuses codes across series and model years, so CC may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
