Seeing 2E on the temperature display of a Bertazzoni bottom-mount refrigerator means the sensors have picked up a problem with the fan or motor in the freezer. The manual puts it in its “Fault Display & Alarm” list, alongside the sensor codes F1 to F5.
Why the fan matters
A No Frost freezer depends on a fan to push cold air around the compartment. When that fan or its motor stops doing its job, air stops moving the way it was designed to. Bertazzoni does not describe the exact failure behind 2E, so we will not either. What it does say is that the appliance still cools.
What to do
- Note the code and whether anything else is displayed with it.
- Keep the doors shut as much as you can, and keep an eye on the freezer contents.
- Arrange for a professional service engineer to check the refrigerator. That is the manufacturer’s own instruction.
There is no owner reset listed. The manual’s note adds that the main board is located in the compressor compartment.
Details to pass on when you call
Mention whether the freezer feels as cold as usual, whether you have heard the fan running lately, and whether any other code appears on the display. These are things you can observe from outside the appliance, and they take a moment to note. Do not remove the freezer back panel to look for the fan.
Companions in the fault list
- F5: freezer evaporator or defrost sensor, same manual list
- F4: freezer compartment sensor
- EC / CE: display and main board communication
Refrigerator service in San Francisco
For a 2E, call (415) 692-0756. Read the model number from the nameplate or rating label so we can look up your unit before we arrive.
Model compatibility: Bertazzoni reuses codes across series and model years, so 2E may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
