When a Bertazzoni dishwasher with the F-code display shows F1 (F01 in some lists), the manual’s fault table reads it as overflow. There is only one remedy printed, and it comes in three parts.
- Unplug the machine.
- Close the tap.
- Contact service.
Why the order matters
Unplugging removes power from the machine, and closing the tap stops more water arriving. Only after both are done does it make sense to look at the floor. Standing water and mains electricity are a poor combination, so keep your hands out of the machine until the plug is out.
What the table does not say
It lists no cause for the overflow and no owner repair. The E4 entry in other Bertazzoni manuals goes into more detail about leaks, but that belongs to different models, and this page does not borrow it. Here the guidance stops at contacting service.
Useful to jot down
- At which point of the cycle the code appeared
- Whether water is visible on the floor or only inside the machine
- Whether the tap was fully closed afterwards
Related codes
- F3: continuous water input, which is also answered by closing the tap
- E4: the E-code overflow entry for the DW24XV, DW24PR and DW18PR models
Questions about F1
Is F1 the same as E4? Both are overflow in Bertazzoni’s tables, but they come from different manuals: E4 from the DW24XV, DW24PR and DW18PR group, F1 from the DW24T3, DW18S2, DW24T2 and DW24S3 group. Bertazzoni does not state that they are one code.
Can I open the tap again once the plug is out? The manual gives no instruction to. Leave both as they are until service has seen the machine.

Model compatibility: Bertazzoni reuses codes across series and model years, so F1 / F01 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
