E07 in daily use
Quick tasks like frying an egg never trigger it. A three-hour Sunday braise, or a large stockpot on a high setting, does, usually somewhere between fifteen and thirty minutes in. The cooktop then stops that zone and shows E07, sometimes with the cooling fan running loudly. After half an hour it recovers. A fault that depends on running time is a different search from one that depends on a single press.
Summer kitchens in warm inland suburbs run hotter, and that can bring the threshold sooner. Tell us if it only happens on hot days. Heat that cannot leave the cabinet is what we are trying to rule in or out, because the zone that stops may not be the part that is struggling.
A useful experiment is to repeat the long cook with the same pan on a medium setting and note the time to E07. If it takes noticeably longer, heat is a strong suspect, and that comparison helps the technician avoid chasing unrelated causes under the glass. If you have a range hood, run it during long cooks, since it lowers the heat rising around the cooktop edge.
Checks that are safe for an owner
- Check that nothing is stored directly beneath the cooktop and that any cabinet vents are clear.
- Notice whether you hear the fan start when the cooktop warms up and whether it runs louder than before.
- Use a lower setting or a smaller pan on long simmers to see whether the delay changes.
Meaning of the code
No single meaning for E07 holds across all Bertazzoni cooktop generations, so we avoid naming a part from the display. A delay-dependent pattern is consistent with a temperature-related response, but the model-specific table and live readings during a long run are what confirm it.
Inside checks start with
The sensors and the parts that shed heat come first: the temperature sensing near the zone, the cooling fan, the airflow path through the cabinet and the board it protects. A fan that has collected dust, or a cabinet that is stuffed, can raise internal temperature just enough to cross a limit late in the cook. The cooling fan moves air through the underside of the cooktop, so a fan that runs but moves little air matters as much as one that does not run.
Technician or not
If E07 returns on long cooks, the fix is not to cook shorter. The cooktop needs a controlled test: run it for the same period with the cabinet closed while temperatures and the fan are monitored. Heat damage to a board is cumulative, so we prefer to find the cause early, and the estimate shows what the readings support. The recovery after about half an hour suggests the protection resets once the parts cool.
Frequently asked questions
Heat builds slowly. A part that is only slightly weak or an airflow path slightly blocked may take twenty minutes to cross its limit.
If nothing smells hot and the glass looks intact, short cooks are generally acceptable while you wait for the visit.
A fan that runs hard is working, but a louder-than-usual or grinding fan is worth mentioning at booking.
Model compatibility: Bertazzoni reuses codes across series and model years, so E07 may mean something different on another appliance or generation. Confirm this against your model’s documentation and record your full model number before acting.
